Each week (Monday-Thursday):
Day 1 (Monday): Volleys, Overheads, and Doubles Strategy
Day 2 (Tuesday): Groundstrokes and Singles Strategy
Day 3 (Wednesday): Serving, Specialty Shots, Doubles Signals
Day 4 (Thursday): Review and Tournament
Each day will start with warm-up and conditioning. Next will be Technique drills, Strategy drills, Matchplay-based drills, and a game. The last day will start as usual, but the drills will cover all the strokes, and then there will be a tournament for all the players.
Location is the Duluth High School tennis courts, just up the street from Downtown Duluth.
For boys and girls ages 14-18 (with some exceptions).
Personalized coaching by one of the most experienced coaches in the state.
Work on technique, conditioning, advanced strategy, and matchplay.
Days are fun, and strategy is made easy to understand.
TST Academy kids have gone one to be at the top of their high school teams, play college tennis, and some have played pro tournaments.
The cost for the winter academy is $220. If you bring a friend who has never done the academy before, then the cost for each of you is $180. Academy must be paid fully before the start of the first day
The academy may be cancelled if fewer than 5 people sign up for a certain week.
April 11, 18, 25 (These will be 1pm-2:30pm)
June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 (These will be 6:30pm-8pm)
July 6, 13, 20, 27 (These will be 6:30pm-8pm)
30 minutes working on technique for groundstrokes, volleys, slices, overheads, drop shots, etc.
30 minutes working on serves/returns
30 minutes working on strategy
Drills will be conducted by Head Coach Ben Hirsch, and there will be assistants there helping as well.

For ages 16+ (with some exceptions for advanced junior players)
Cost is $25/day
April 5, 12pm-2:30pm (Doubles Qualifying Tournament)
April 12th, 12pm-2:30pm (Doubles Qualifying Tournament)
April 25th, 3pm-5:30pm (Singles Qualifying Tournament) (Singles Qualifying is full)
April 19th, 12pm-3:30pm (Pro Doubles Tournament)
April 26th, 12pm-3:30pm (Pro Singles Tournament)

For Advanced players ages 16+
Cost is $30 per tournament
The Qualifying Tournaments will be open to all players, and the Pro Tournaments are invitation only.
The winners of the two doubles qualifying tournaments will play in the Pro Doubles Tournament.
The winner of the singles qualifying tournament will play in the Pro Singles tournament.
The players in the pro tournaments include current and former ATP players, ITF World Tour players, Top 5 Nationally ranked players, Division 1 college players (Schools including GA Tech and Georgia State), and also high-level players from Russia and India. Please sign up on the form below for Trick Shot Tennis events or for private lessons with Coach Ben. Private lesson rate is $70/h. For group lessons (such as ALTA or USTA teams, the rate depends on the number of people, and you can ask in the form below).
Coach Ben has been playing tennis for 28 years and has been coaching for 18 years. He played for Duluth High School (2008-2011) and played college tennis at Oglethorpe University (2011-2015). Ben finished 2024 ranked #1 in the South in doubles and #5 in the US (USTA Open Rankings). Ben coaches the Duluth High School varsity and JV teams, coaches the adult classes for the Duluth City Parks, and is the owner of Trick Shot Tennis, which he started in 2021. As of March 2025, Ben is playing on the ITF Men's World Tennis Tour.
